There are many kinds of animals in mexico since it is considered one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world. It provides home to 10% of all known living species on Earth and a large portion can’t be found anywhere else, however, there are at least thirty kinds of animals in mexico that are already classified as instinct. It is very important to protect these endangered animals.

Monkeys

There are three kinds of monkeys in Mexico that are considered to be endangered. The first one is the howler which is known for its loud roars as a way of communication and to alert others to danger. They can weigh up to 13 pounds and live on flowers, leaves and fruits. The second type of monkey that is endangered is the Guatemalan black howler. Like the howler, it is also popular for its loud call and can be found in tropical rainforest. The last endangered monkey in Mexico is the mantled howler monkey which can be found in the southern part of the country.

Birds

Two types of birds are listed as endangered in Mexico. Coquette is a tiny hummingbird and can be seen in small areas in Guerrero and eats nectars and insects. This attractive bird grows no more than 5 inches in length and its throat is the color of bright green, its rump has a purplish-bronze color and has a reddish brown crown and crest. The other endangered bird is the harpy eagle. Harpy eagle adult can reach up to almost 20 pounds and has a wingspan that can reach a width of 6.5 feet. They can be found in the rain forests in the south part of Mexico and lives on small mammals and monkeys.

Cats

Jaguars are the largest cats that can be found in Mexico and can weigh from 200-250 pounds. Their main habitat is lowland rain forest and preys on small mammals such as deer. Mexican bobcat is another endangered cat. It can be found in the central part Mexico where it hunts in forests, swamps and deserts and lives on small animals.

There are also different kinds of animals in Mexico that belong to wildlife. Some of it includes bears, wolves, monkeys, iguanas and snakes. They can be found wandering around the forest.
