Kinds Of Learning Disabilities

The various kinds of learning disabilities are neural disorders which one needs to evaluate in order to find a way of success. They include:

General processing issue

Processing has quite a number of elements. Inability to process information is one of the most common kinds of learning disabilities most students face. Life depends on processing some kind of facts or situation to get the gist of what the situation is all about. A person suffering from general processing disabilities may not be able to pay attention effectively, may not be able to retain information either for a short or long time, brain will always process information at slower pace, both logic or auditory processing will be very slow besides being unable to reason out appropriately amongst other factors.
However, these shouldn’t be confused with someone who has temporarily taken some drugs which may have the same effects. These other kinds of learning disabilities listed below are the subsets of general processing disability.

Dyslexia
People suffering from this kind of learning disabilities do not process words and these results to problems such as inability to read fluently. It not only affects reading but also speaking and writing at times. Various victims might have different levels of dyslexia and this explains why some students can read loudly and fluently while others cannot. However never confuse this with shyness. This kind of disorder is very much different from someone with impaired hearing problems.

Dyscalculia
These are arithmetic related problems. Although people suffering from these kinds of learning disability may have difficult to excel in this area, it should not be a reason to defend failure. There is no specific age for this kind of disorder.

Dysgraphia
People suffering from this kind of disorder have a wide range of problems; writing, astonishing spelling mistakes, organizing facts on paper etc. It’s not discriminative as it can affect people of all ages. These kinds of learning disabilities have very many setbacks in education systems as children who suffer from advanced dysgraphia are likely not to perform well in school.
Remember being able to put some facts on paper is one of the key pillars of education.

Auditory processing disorder
This disorder affects children along with the above mentioned disorders. In most circumstances, children suffering from auditory processing disorder cannot differentiate similar/ closely similar sounds.

Aphasia
It also another disability which creates a barrier between a student and a teacher as those with these kinds of disability cannot understand any spoken language.

Dysphasia
This is yet another class of learning disability where one cannot read comprehensively. It’s also classified under language disability.

There’re very many kinds of learning disabilities. However, it’s worth noting that some disabilities are worse than the other. For instance, a student suffering from dysphasia can actually write and communicate with the teacher unlike one who cannot reason or organize facts logically.

Although some kinds of learning disorders might be permanent, some can be controlled ether through seeking medication or proper assessment and training. This should never be a ground to cover up failure.
